At the Ratcatchers we have wonderful art on display and for sale.

Our resident artist is Phil Daniels, renowned for his superb, highly detailed wildlife, African sunset canvas's and portraits.

Each Autumn we host a special charity event featuring around 50 of Phil's originals for sale at reduced prices. And all throughout the year newly painted originals are displayed with us for the first time to compliment the limited edition prints we offer all year.

We are often asked about Phil and his art

This is a short Bio about the man and his passion

Phil is an internationally acclaimed listed artist.
He has pieces in some of the largest private collections across the globe with sales in excess of 700 original paintings and thousands of prints.
From art hanging in the Mall Gallery in London, to illustrations in books and graphics used in computer games, Phil has produced art to suit a broad variety of media and customers.

Born in the early 60's Phil grew up with a love of nature and became a gamekeeper as his first employment. Spending all his time with nature and animals led to an appreciation and love of wildlife.

Turning professional as an artist after suffering from cancer in 1984, Phil concentrated in the main on wildlife art and has worked with the Wildlife Trust and contributed to various charities involved in this area.

In recent years several trips to Africa led Phil to teach children there and bring that knowledge closer to home when teaching to schools and art groups throughout the UK.
As a member of various art and wildlife organisations Phil is recognized by his peers in the art world as an artist of high quality, emotional pieces.

Phil works from his open studio gallery in Cawston, North Norfolk. Various mediums create his art, from pastels and acrylics to Chroma paints.
He is at home with small detailed miniatures to large box canvases. His open studio gallery (appointment only) has over 50 originals and hundreds of giclee prints, both framed and unframed.
His work is available for purchase as either original pieces or limited edition prints, all produced with the highest quality materials.

All the limited edition prints we display at the Rat's are acid free, archival museum quality. They are hand signed and numbered by Phil himself and represent a great investment. His originals are highly sought after but during our annual exhibition of these pieces they are offered at special prices for the chosen charities benefit.

You can see Phil's work at the Pub or browse online at www.maverickgallery.co.uk
